Diana Horsman (born 1959) completed the classical training to become a Hatha yoga teacher in Utrecht and has been a member of the Dutch Association of Yoga Teachers since 2009. She has also completed various Qi Gong trainings, and integrates this gentle, meditative Chinese movement practice into her classes.
“In the early years of my yoga practice, I found it very difficult to maintain inner calm. There was constant restlessness, mental chatter, and self-criticism in my head—and of course, that affected how I functioned. Tension in the mind creates tension in the body, and vice versa. It also affects the breath. That interaction between body and mind, and experiencing how yoga can ease discomfort, continues to fascinate me. A few years ago, when I entered menopause, I started experiencing hot flashes and dryness of the mucous membranes. That’s when I took a Hormone Yoga workshop with Lizzy and was immediately enthusiastic about its integrated approach: the exercises target the physical body, the breath, and the energetic flow. Once you’ve learned it, it’s a truly wonderful series to practice. The exercises are beautifully coordinated and focused on the entire hormonal system. My symptoms have decreased, and every time I do the series, I feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and satisfied.
Now, I also teach this workshop myself. It’s a complete yoga series that can benefit you for the rest of your life.”
