By background, Lizzy is a health psychologist and yoga therapist, specialized in Hormone Yoga with certified training (Yoga Alliance). In 2014, she completed the Power Yoga Teacher Training in London and achieved Level 3 Hormone Yoga Teacher Training with Dinah Rodrigues in Berlin.
Lizzy Wakefield was born in 1982. Her English surname comes from her husband, who is from the United Kingdom. She now lives with her family in the Green Heart of the Netherlands.
My daughter and sons—what a blessing!—I owe to the practice of Hormone Yoga. Until I was 28, I never had a natural, regular menstrual cycle; it only came through the use of the birth control pill. I didn’t see it as a problem—until my husband and I wanted to have children. The GP and gynecologist told me it wouldn’t be easy for me to conceive. I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and given hormone treatments to stimulate ovulation. But they didn’t work. The gynecologist immediately prescribed a new set of medications, and I saw a long medical journey ahead of me…
It was exactly at that moment that I discovered Hormone Yoga. I decided to give it a try—and it worked! After practicing the sequence intensively for a few months, I became pregnant naturally. Thanks to Hormone Yoga, my cycle also became regular.
This surprising and personal experience with Hormone Yoga led me to start the training myself. At the same time, I began to envision guiding other women with Hormone Yoga—women who want to become pregnant, or those experiencing hormonal complaints, such as PMS or symptoms related to menopause.
After completing the training, I opened my own Hormone Yoga practice in 2014. Over the years, I’ve found it incredibly fulfilling to help women bring their hormones back into balance in a natural way. You can do it completely on your own. After attending just a half-day Hormone Yoga workshop, you're ready to practice the sequence at home.
I teach Hormone Yoga based on my own vision. A personal approach and guidance are important to me. That’s why the workshops are taught in small groups. Private lessons are also available, as well as custom classes or workshops upon request.
I love hearing back from my students once they’ve started practicing the sequence at home. Many of them return for a refresher workshop or follow-up class.”
